O'Reilly 300 - Jamie McMurray Notes

Yellow Racing ~ O’Reilly 300 Advance

Not a Typical Afternoon Drive … Most drivers on the NASCAR circuit find that the field tends to break away early in the race at Texas. It’s essential that they concentrate on hitting their marks each lap, so they don’t become complacent on the 1.5-mile tri-oval.

Jamie McMurray: “It’s crucial that we have an engine that can last on long runs and a chassis that can adjust to different track conditions at Texas. It’s a track where your focus is key because the race stays green for so long. We’re taking a brand new car that we feel will be prime and ready to go to the front.”

Yellow Fever… After a full day of on-track activity on Thursday, Yellow teammates Jamie McMurray and David Stremme will join hundreds of employees for the drivers’ first-ever visit to the local Yellow facility in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The Dallas facility is one of the company’s largest nationwide, with more than 1,300 union and non-union employees.

Jamie McMurray: “I’m really looking forward to Texas because I get to visit with my family, meet hundreds of Yellow employees and greet fans who are always so pumped up for this race. I’ve also never been to a Yellow facility before and it will be nice to spend time with the people behind-the-scenes who support our race team every week. Texas is so fast and smooth that you can be moving more than 200 mph and not even feel it. This makes for an exciting race for the fans to watch from the stands.”

David Stremme: “This will be the first time I actually get to meet Yellow employees. I’ve heard about the enthusiasm they have for the Yellow Racing program, so I’m looking forward to experiencing that excitement first hand. As a driver, it really means a lot to receive that kind of support from your sponsor. I can’t wait to be the one in the driver’s seat at Nashville.”
