Nemechek Wins Wild One in Texas
Joe Nemechek survived two red flags and a record number of caution flags to win the O'Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Nemechek, who had to start from the rear of the field after an engine change, becomes the first repeat winner of the 2003 season and continues the Winston Cup dominance in the Busch series. Winston Cup regulars have shut out the full-time BGN drivers, winning all six events this season. The win is the first for Nemechek at Texas and the 14th of his Busch Grand National career. Nemechek has ran three BGN events this season, winning two. Scott Riggs was the top finishing Busch regular, crossing the finish line in second place. Shane Hmiel scored the best finish of his career, coming home third, while point-leader Todd Bodine finished fourth. Rookie Chad Blount, in only his sixth Busch start, finished in fifth for his first career top five. The race featured 10 cautions for 48 laps.

Stanton Barrett will start from the outside-pole position, while Bobby Hamilton Jr. and Scott Riggs make out the second row on the starting grid. Fords swept the top-four starting spots.
