Funai 250 - Scott Wimmer Notes
Scott Wimmer Event Preview
Wimmer on Richmond: Scott Wimmer, driver of the No. 23 Stacker 2/YJ Stinger Chevrolet, has an average finish of 8.8 at Richmond International Raceway.
"Richmond is a real racer's race track," said Wimmer. "It is such an awesome place because it is very rare you can find a short track where you have plenty of room to race. It is fun to go race where aerodynamics, motor and fuel mileage play less of a factor and it is put back into the team's hands of getting your car to handle properly. The best handling car that stays out of trouble will be in victory lane at the end."
"Our Stacker 2 Chevy was really good at Richmond in the spring," said Wimmer. "I think we'll be able to do even better this time around. What I like most about Richmond is you can move around the track and find a groove to make your car work best."
On the New SAFER Walls: Wimmer comments on the new SAFER walls installed recently at Richmond.
"I'm looking forward to trying those out," Wimmer said jokingly. "Seriously, I think it is a great addition to the race track. I see a need for something like that everywhere we race. I commend RIR for getting that installed so quickly and wish more tracks would take the initiative as well."
Equipment: Wimmer and the Stacker 2/YJ Stinger team are taking a brand new car to Richmond.
Appearance: Wimmer will make appearance on Friday, Sept. 5th at Stacker 2 Sports Design souvenir trailer located on Richmond International Raceway property. Approximately from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
