Hardee's 250 - Ron Hornaday Notes
Hornaday feels "battle tested"
Race No. 10: Hardee's 250 TV: FX 7:00 p.m.*
NOTES:
* Ron Hornaday and the No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet head into Richmond
International Raceway (RIR) with another top-10 finish in the books.
Hornaday ran in the top-five during the late stages of the NASCAR Busch
Series event at California Speedway last weekend, but got shuffled back to
10th after being blocked on the final restart. The finish was Hornaday's
fourth top-10 of the season. Hornaday remains second in points, just 99
points out of first.
* Despite not testing at all during the first nine races, Hornaday
changed that pattern for the race in Richmond, VA. Hornaday participated in
a two-day test at RIR on April 15-16 and was one of the fastest Busch Series
cars in attendance. The ACDelco team tested both a standard chassis and a
drop-snout car. Both seemed to perform extremely well, which promoted the
team to test the "drop" car at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C. on April
29. Based on the testing results from those two tracks, Hornaday has
elected to run the standard car, chassis 028 on Friday night. It is the
first time that the ACDelco/RCR team has run the car this year.
