Hardee's 250 - Bobby Hamilton, Jr. Notes
Bobby Hamilton, Jr.
TEAM MARINES RACING NOTES & QUOTES:
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. is going to Richmond International Raceway ready to
settle the score. One year ago, Hamilton, Jr. was leading the race with
nine laps to go and was on the way to scoring his first win when he ran out
of fuel due to a pick up problem in the car's fuel cell. This year, he's
hoping for a little more luck and a completely different ending.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. on Richmond:
"Getting back to a short-track will be a nice change of pace," said
Hamilton, Jr. "Hopefully it will change our luck too. We have had some
great runs the past few races but luck has definitely not been on our side
lately. Hopefully, that will change in Richmond. Richmond is a tricky
track that's rough on your equipment, especially the brakes and the motor.
You have to be aggressive but you also have to take care of your car. We
had this race won a year ago but in the end luck wasn't on our side. Maybe
this time it will be. "
Fred Wanke on Richmond:
"This track requires both good handling and a lot of horsepower to be
successful. Last year's race was a huge disappointment for us. That was
our race to win but the fuel pick-up cost us the win. If we can stay out of
trouble and keep all the fenders on the car, I feel pretty confident about
our chances this weekend. Knowing how well we did there last year, this Team
Marines crew is ready to go back and settle the score."
Equipment:
The No. 25 Team Marines will compete with chassis No. 10 this at Richmond
International Raceway. This is the same chassis that Hamilton, Jr. competed
with in Las Vegas and finished 34th (overheating).
Special Appearances:
Look for Hamilton, Jr. at the Party Zone on Friday afternoon from 4-5pm
where he'll sign autographs for fans and participate in a Q & A session.
