TrimSpa Dream Body 250 - Notes

Hornaday looking to capitalize on past success at Pike's Peak

Race No. 21: Pike's Peak 250 TV: TNT 3:30 p.m.*
Pike's Peak International Raceway RADIO: MRN 3:30 p.m.*
Distance: 1.0-mile
*All times are Eastern

Notes:
* Point's battle
Ron Hornaday and the No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet head into this Saturday's race at Pike's Peak International Raceway (PPIR) in fourth position in the NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) point's standings. Hornaday is just 72 points out of first place. In fact, the top-five are separated by less than 100 points.

* Past success at Pike's Peak
Hornaday has been to victory lane at PPIR in the past. In 1998, Hornaday led 98 of 198 laps to win the NASCAR Truck Series (NCTS) event at PPIR. In fact, Hornaday has raced at PPIR in both the NCTS and NBS and has never finished outside of the top-10. Last year, Hornaday finished fourth driving the No. 26 Chevrolet for Carroll Racing.

* What ya haulin'?
The No. 2 ACDelco transporter will unload chassis No. 34 at PPIR. It is the same "drop-snout" car that the team raced to top-10 finishes at Milwaukee and New Hampshire. Chassis No. 34 has become one of Hornaday's favorite cars.

What are your thoughts on racing at PPIR?
"I won at Pikes Peak in the Trucks, so this is definitely one of my favorite tracks. Colorado Springs is a beautiful city and the Rocky Mountains are an incredible backdrop for racing. I feel like we have a great fan base there, so I enjoy spending extra time in the area. The track is pretty cool. It's a little like Richmond, but it seems to wear the tires more. The altitude also puts the engine tuner in the spotlight. The RCR team always seems to get the most out of their motors there, so I am really pumped to be racing the ACDelco Chevrolet this time out."
