Trace Adkins Chrome 300 - Todd Bodine Notes

TODD BODINE TO DEBUT SPONSORSHIP WITH MONSTER AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY JUNE 7 CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 5, 2003) - Herzog Jackson Motorsports (HJM) and Todd Bodine will debut a three-race sponsorship deal with Monster this Saturday in the Trace Adkins Chrome 300 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway. The No. 92 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will also be displaying the famous Monster logo in the Meijer 300 at Kentucky (Ky.) Speedway on June 14th and in the GNC Live Well 250 at The Milwaukee (Wisc.) Mile on June 29th.

Currently sitting in first place in the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series driver's points standings, it is safe to say that Bodine has had a stellar season thus far. Bodine notched a win at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in March, and has also racked up nine top-10 finishes and six top-five finishes in the No. 92 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. This translates into a better than 60% top-10 finish rate so far this season.

Todd Bodine enters the Trace Adkins Chrome 300 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway with four starts in the Busch Series at the 1.33-mile track. Out of four starts, he has two top-10 finishes, those coming in the first two Busch races to be held at the new track. Barely missing the top-10 in June of 2002 and April of 2003, he placed 11th and 13th respectively.

Because Bodine is splitting his time between the Winston Cup event at Pocono (Penn.) Raceway and the Busch race at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, he will be forced to miss Friday's first practice. Veteran Busch Series driver Mike McLaughlin, who has been helping with the practicing and qualifying of the No. 92 in all non-companion events this season, will once again be sitting in the driver's seat for the initial practice. If it happens that Bodine is not able to arrive in Nashville in time for Friday's Bud Pole qualifying, McLaughlin will also be qualifying the No. 92.

"I'm hoping for at least a top-10 finish at Nashville," stated Bodine. "We finished 13th in April, and I thought that it was a pretty decent finish considering that I had no time whatsoever in the car. This weekend will be pretty much the same with me splitting my time between the Cup race at Pocono and the Busch race at Nashville. The entire HJM team is really focused on the big picture ? that being the Busch Series Championship.
