CAP Racing Notes & Quotes:
CAP Racing and Ashton Lewis, Jr. head to Nashville Superspeedway with one
goal in mind. Winning. In the last NASCAR Busch Series event at Nashville
Superspeedway in April, Lewis, Jr. ran in the top-10 for much of the event
going on to post his best finish of the 2003 season with third place.
Driver, Ashton Lewis, Jr. on Nashville:
"We are really looking forward to returning to Nashville Superspeedway,"
said Lewis, Jr. "In April we had a great run there running in the top-10
pretty much all day long and finishing third, our best finish of the season.
This is a track we have always run extremely well at and always been very
competitive at but we have had some very bad luck there as well. When we
got home from the first Nashville, we sat down and really tried to determine
what it was that kept us from winning that race. We found a couple of
factors and have made changes to the car accordingly. We want to go in
there and do everything we can to put ourselves in a position to win on
Saturday night including getting a top qualifying spot, make sure the car
handles well, quick pit stops, avoiding trouble on the race track etc. If
you can do all that you will be in a position to win. That's our goal for
this weekend."
Crew chief, Charlie Lewis on Nashville:
"We're going back to Nashville to win," said Lewis. "It's that plain and
simple. We were so close back in April we could taste it, but we just
couldn't bring it home. This time, we know what it takes. The car was a
little bit tight there in the last event, so we're tweaking the set-up just
a little bit to correct that problem but set-up wise we're not making any
major changes."
Equipment:
CAP Racing will compete with chassis No. 8 this weekend at Nashville
Superspeedway. This is the same chassis that Lewis, Jr. drove in earlier
events this season at Rockingham (16th), Darlington (25th), Nashville (3rd)
and Nazareth (35th-engine).
