Pepsi 300 - Jason Keller Notes

ALBERTSONS-Jason Keller
Nashville Superspeedway
NASCAR Busch Series

Notes and Quotes

Jason Keller Notes:

· Jason Keller and the Albertsons team have not finished out of the top five in the three NASCAR Busch Series races that have taken place at Nashville Superspeedway. The Busch Series started racing at Nashville Superspeedway in April of 2001. Keller finished second in the track’s inaugural race, his career-best finish at the track.

· The Albertsons team tested a 2003 Ford Taurus at the 1.333-mile track earlier this season. It is the same car Keller will run this weekend.

· Nashville is the only concrete surface on which the NASCAR Busch Series competes that Keller has yet to capture a win. Keller conquered Bristol in 1999 and Dover in 2000, the series other two concrete ovals.

· Keller has just five races to go before he makes his 300th NASCAR Busch Series start at Nazareth Speedway.

Jason Keller Quotes:

Getting back on track… Keller and the Albertsons team are looking to get back in championship form this weekend in Nashville after two disappointing finishes in a row. Keller slipped to fifth in the championship standings after getting involved in the early crash last weekend at Talladega. But, Keller collected five top-10 finishes at the five upcoming races (Nashville, California, Richmond, St. Louis and Nazareth), including two wins, last season.

“We have to put the past few weeks behind us,” said Keller. “We are still fine tuning our 2003 program, but the upcoming races will showcase the talent on the Albertsons team. The stand-alone events are the races where we need to finish well in order to secure our place as a championship contender. This is the stretch of races where the strong Busch teams begin separating themselves from the rest of the field. Nashville has been a successful track for this team and the perfect track to turn our luck around.

“We had a great test a few weeks ago with the 2003 body style and that just boosts a team’s confidence when you head back to that track. I love Nashville and I am gunning for that Gibson guitar. We had great finishes last season by being smart in the pits and giving ourselves a shot at the win. Pit strategy will play a key role again this weekend.”
