Green Wins at New Hampshire, Retakes Point Lead
David Green killed two birds with one stone on Saturday in Loudon, New Hampshire. Not only did Green win the New England 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway but he also regained the lead atop the Busch series point standings. Green was able to hold off Kevin Harvick and claim his second victory of the season, the seventh of his career. Green passed Harvick, who lead 152 of the race's 200 laps, with 45 laps to go and held on to the end. Green now leads Scott Riggs by 23 points in the championship standings. Harvick finished second, followed by Matt Kenseth in third. Brian Vickers and Scott Wimmer rounded out the top-five positions in the finishing order.
Busch Qualifying Rained Out, Harvick to Start from Pole
Rain fell down on the New Hampshire International Speedway on Friday afternoon, forcing qualifying for the New England 200 to be canceled. The field for the Busch Series race was set in accordance to NASCAR rule book, giving Kevin Harvick the pole position. The No. 21 Chevrolet owned by Richard Childress and driven by Harvick this week sits atop the owner point standings. Point leader Scott Riggs will join Harvick on the front row, starting from the outside pole. Jamie McMurray and David Green will start from row two.
