McMurray Dominates Rockingham
Jamie McMurray dominated the Rockingham 200 at North Carolina Speedway, leading 192 of the event’s 197 laps. McMurray outdistanced pole-sitter David Green by 1.908 seconds to claim his second consecutive Busch Grand National win at Rockingham. Only two other drivers led a lap during the race, as Michael Waltrip led for two laps and Kerry Earnhardt led three. Green brought home the runner-up spot, while Todd Bodine finished third. Randy LaJoie and Jason Keller rounded out the top five in the finishing order. McMurray, who is running a part-time Busch schedule, takes the point lead heading to Las Vegas, holding a 25-point lead over Todd Bodine.
Rockingham Busch Race Postponed
The Rockingham 200 at the North Carolina Speedway has been postponed until Monday morning due to persistent rain and fog. Winston Cup practice at Rockingham was also canceled because of the rain. The Busch Grand National event will be run on Monday, Feb. 24 at 11:00 am ET.
Green Takes Rockingham Busch Pole
David Green took the pole position for the Rockingham 200, the 20th pole of his Busch series career. Green’s pole-winning lap was clocked at 23.708 seconds, at an average speed of 154.429 mph, giving him his third career pole at North Carolina Speedway. Jamie McMurray, who won the BGN race at Rockingham last November, will start from the outside-front row after qualifying second. Scott Riggs will start from the third position, while Kasey Kahne and Jason Keller will start fourth and fifth respectively.
