Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 - Todd Bodine Notes

TODD BODINE AND ESGR RACING TEAM HEAD NORTH TO NAZARETH

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 14, 2003) - Todd Bodine and the No.92 ESGR Racing Team will make their way north this weekend for the running of the Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 at Nazareth (Penn.) Speedway in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) will be partnering with Herzog Jackson Motorsports (HJM) for the second race of a six-race deal for 2003.

With eight starts previously in the Busch Series at Nazareth (Penn.) Speedway, Bodine has claimed three top-10 finishes and two top-five finishes, including a victory in May of 1992 in only his second start at the track. He also has qualified in the top-10 five times, grabbing the pole position in May of 1993.

Having only run at Nazareth (Penn.) Speedway three times in the past, HJM is anxious to make the trek to Pennsylvania. Their best finish of ninth came in May of 2002, with Jimmie Johnson at the helm of the No. 92 Chevrolet.

Todd Bodine has entered the previous seven races in first place in the NASCAR Busch Series driver's points standings. After an eleventh place finish last weekend at Gateway (Ill.) International Raceway, Bodine dropped to a mere five points out of the lead. With a new partnership with ESGR scheduled for five more races, Bodine believes he and his team's chances of remaining a top contender for the championship are strong.

"Nazareth is a challenging track," stated Bodine. "I've had a fair amount of success at the track in the past, but the last two or three times I've run there I've had some bad luck. This team is really focused on remaining consistent, and I'm extremely optimistic that we can continue the good run we've been having. A huge thank you to ESGR for coming aboard and helping us keep this racing organization afloat."

Chartered in 1972 by Presidential Proclamation, the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency that acts as a liaison between those serving in the Guard and Reserve and their full-time civilian employers. Consisting of 4,200 volunteers across the United States and overseas, the ESGR has become vital in their services as the employment rights information source for members of the Guard and Reserve.

Live television coverage of the Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 from Nazareth (Penn.) Speedway will begin at 1:00 pm EDT on FX. MRN Radio will also broadcast the race live beginning at 1:00 pm EDT.
