Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 - Scott Riggs Notes
Scott Riggs Fast Facts
Scott Riggs on his Win at Gateway International: Scott Riggs, driver of the
No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus, says Gateway is still a surprise.
"I still can't believe we won!" said Riggs. "I hate it for [Mike] Bliss and
the rest of the [Joe] Gibbs boys. St. Louis should have been theirs."
"We are just going to move forward and take advantage of the momentum. It's
kind of hard not to get caught up in the excitement, but I feel like our
focus is incredible right now."
Riggs on Nazareth: Riggs says Nazareth is a road course with left turns.
"Nazareth is just so different," said Riggs. "It is more like a road course
with left turns. I was on the fence about Nazareth before finishing second
there last year. The guys gave me just what I needed and Doug will work
from those notes while adding his own changes. I am still not sure what to
think about it, other than we are taking the same car to Nazareth that we
took to Richmond and Gateway. That makes me real confident."
Another First for Doug Randolph: Like Gateway and Nashville, Randolph has
never seen the Nazareth Speedway.
"I will just walk around Nazareth Speedway like I walked around Nashville
and Gateway," said Randolph. "Other than that I will rely on the notes the
Nesquik Racing Team kept from previous years."
Equipment: The Nesquik Racing Team is taking car No. 1018 to Nazareth
Speedway. No. 1018 is the same car Riggs raced to the Nesquik Racing Team's
first win in the 2003 season. Prior to Gateway, Riggs raced the car to a
second place finish at Richmond.
