GNC Live Well 250 - Todd Bodine Notes
BODINE AND MONSTER RACING TEAM LOOKING TO CATCH
COMPETITION AT THE MILWAUKEE MILE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 25, 2003) ? The "monster" will be on the prowl this
weekend as Todd Bodine and the Monster racing team will travel to West Allis,
Wisconsin for the running of the GNC Live Well 250 at The Milwaukee (Wisc.)
Mile. Gaining valuable points will be the top priority for the Monster
Chevy, as the No. 92 team is currently chasing the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series
Championship. Bodine sits in third place behind the No. 37 Timberwolf Pontiac
of David Green and the No.10 Nestle Nesquik Ford of Scott Riggs.
Herzog Jackson Motorsports (HJM) has enlisted the "monster's" help in chasing
down competitors for the third straight week. HJM and Monster, the leading
global careers website, partnered previously at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway
on June 7th and at Kentucky Speedway on June 14th.
"This team is extremely proud to have paired with such a innovative and
successful company as Monster," stated team owner Randy Herzog. "They have
given this team the opportunity to keep the dream of a championship alive,
and for that we are extremely grateful. We feel like we've paired a first-class
racing organization with a first-class company."
With a 26th place finish at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway and a 29th place
finish at Kentucky Speedway, HJM is hoping to change its current run of
bad luck. Bodine enters the GNC Live Well 250 at The Milwaukee (Wisc.)
Mile with six starts to his credit. With one top-10 finish and an impressive
five qualifying efforts inside the top-10, Bodine and team feel good about
their chances at the one-mile track.
"We're heading to Milwaukee with the hopes that we can get a really good
finish", said driver Todd Bodine. "The last two weeks have been pretty
chaotic. First it was the fluke thing with the motor in Nashville, and
then getting caught up in the wreck at Kentucky. Our team morale is still
pretty high, and we're looking forward to taking the Monster Chevy to the
Mile. I've had some pretty solid qualifying runs there, and finished in
the top-10 once. I would love to get the car into victory lane."
HJM made its NASCAR Busch Series debut at The Milwaukee (Wisc.) Mile in
July of 1999 with a then unknown driver named Jimmie Johnson. Johnson went
on to finish the event in the seventh position, beginning his and HJM's
rise to success in NASCAR.
"I?ve always liked racing at The Milwaukee Mile because it was the first
place we started in the NASCAR Busch Series with Jimmie [Johnson]," stated
Herzog. "It was Jimmie?s NASCAR debut, and he went on to a seventh place
finish in the race. It was a defining moment for this race team. We knew
then that we had the ability to compete at an elite level."
