Keller Wins at The Milwaukee Mile
Jason Keller passed teammate Scott Riggs with 20 laps to go and held on to win the GNC Live Well 250 at The Milwaukee Mile under caution. Keller and Riggs battled side by side for several laps before Keller finally took the lead for good and captured the tenth win of his Busch series career. For Keller, the victory was his first of the 2003 season and his first career win at Milwaukee. Brian Vickers came home in the runner-up position and David Stremme finished third. Ron Hornaday and David Reutimann rounded out the top five finishers, while Riggs slipped back to finish seventh.
Milwaukee Qualifying Canceled, Sauter to Start from Pole
Steady rainfall in the Milwaukee area forced the cancellation of today's GNC Live Well 250 qualifying session and the field of 43 cars was set in accordance with the NASCAR rulebook. Johnny Sauter, currently ninth in driver points, will start the event from the pole position based on owner points. The No. 21 Chevrolet of Richard Childress, which is shared by Sauter and Kevin Harvick, leads the series in the owner point standings and will start from the pole for the fourth time this season. For Sauter, it will be his second top starting spot of the year and the third of his career. David Green, the present leader in driver points, will start from the outside pole, while Scott Riggs and David Stremme start from row two.
