TEAM MARINES RACING NOTES & QUOTES:
Blackjack, Poker, Slots and Racing. What do these all have in common? LUCK!
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. and the No. 25 Team Marines are ready to try their hand
at lady luck this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway when the NASCAR Busch
Series hits the track for the Sam's Town 300. After posting a 13th place
finish at Rockingham, the Team Marines remain seventh in the overall points
standings and hope to continue the momentum gained in the first two races of
the 2003 season.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. on Las Vegas:
"I'm really looking forward to getting out to Las Vegas. It is a place I
have always enjoyed running at, but up until last year, never had a decent
finish at. It's a flat, fast track that's got a lot of grip and allows you
to race hard. There are a lot of different grooves that you can run and if
your car isn't working in one place, you can move around and find a place
where it does. You need a set-up that will handle the flat corners and a
lot of horsepower to get you down the straightaways. That's what we worked
on when we tested here back in January. We focused on our race set-up and
found a couple of combinations that really worked for us and gave us some
pretty quick lap times. We feel well-prepared for this race and if we play
are cards right, we expect a very good day for the No. 25 Team Marines Ford
Taurus."
Fred Wanke on Las Vegas:
"Las Vegas is one of those flat tracks that is meant for side-by-side
racing. It's important to keep the attitude of the chassis fairly flat so
that you'll be able to roll fast through the corners. Finding a happy medium
between aero-balance and chassis-balance is essential. You'll see a lot of
long green-flag runs, so fuel mileage strategy and pit strategy plays a
significant role here."
Testing & Equipment:
The No. 25 Team Marines tested at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on January 27-28,

first time Chassis No. 10 has been raced since the 2001 Homestead event with
driver, Randy Tolsma.
