Carquest Auto Parts 300 - Scott Riggs Notes
Scott Riggs Fast Facts
Scott Riggs on Lowe's Motor Speedway: Scott Riggs, driver of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus, is looking forward to racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
"I have mixed feelings about racing at Charlotte," said Riggs. "After our third place finish last May, 39th place was a hard pill for the Nesquik Racing Team to swallow in October."
"I like racing in Charlotte for the same reason most of the other drivers do.it's close to home."
"Lowe's [Motor Speedway] is such a heat sensitive track it is hard to find the right set-up. As a driver I have to give Doug [Randolph, crew chief] really good feedback on the car's handling. He in turn has to dissect it and stay ahead of the weather or any other conditions that might affect the racing surface. The team could end up chasing it all day if we miss the set-up."
Doug Randolph on Lowe's Motor Speedway: Randolph likes racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway because he gets to spend time with his family.
"I always look forward to racing at Lowe's because I get to spend more time with my family," said Randolph.
"The Nesquik Racing Team is looking for a good balance on the track. We have to be right in the middle of the perfect set-up so we can head in either direction when the track changes. It can be very tricky."
Show Me the Money: Heading into Lowe's Motor Speedway, Riggs is on top of the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series earnings with $422,210.
Equipment: Riggs will drive car #1502 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. #1502 is the car Riggs attempted to race at Texas before wrecking during practice. The car received a new 2003 body after returning to ppc Racing headquarters in Mooresville, NC. Prior to Texas Riggs drove #1502 at Las Vegas earlier this year (Start 11th/ Finish 20th) and Lyndon Amick piloted the car for ppc at Kansas in September 2002.
