Mr. Goodcents 300 - Rookie Post-Race Quotes

CHAD BLOUNT, NO. 26 MILLER HIGH LIFE DODGE:

"It looks like a left-rear brake rotor came apart. It's really a shame for the Miller High Life Dodge team. I just hate it for the guys. We're going to have to check into it and see if it was a faulty part or something. We'll try to get the Miller High Life Dodge back out there and make some laps but it's a disappointing way to start your day. We went green and went into one there and I hit the brake and the rotor blew apart. It's just one of those deals."

DAMON LUSK, NO. 6 STA-RITE PUMPS DODGE:

WHAT HAPPENED? "I lost it, I don't know. I went into turn three and it came around. The car was pretty good. I just lost it, I guess. I got on the outside, had a good run and wrecked."

NOTE: Coy Gibbs was the Raybestos® Rookie of the Race at Kansas. Gibbs took Raybestos® Rookie of the Race honors for the eighth time this season and for the second consecutive race. He was the top first-year driver two weeks ago in the Stacker 200 at Dover International Speedway. Gibbs finished 21st in the race.

COY GIBBS, NO. 18 MBNA CHEVROLET:

"You could have fooled me that I was the highest finishing Raybestos® Rookie because we didn't have a good day. But, I'm glad I was able to help us in the Raybestos® Rookie battle."

JASON WHITE, NO. 0 EAGLE JET INTERNATIONAL CHEVROLET:

"I had a pretty good car today. We had an engine problem, lost a cylinder, and then we broke an axle. It was a bunch of problems but the car was real good. The plan is to finish out the rest of the season and hopefully turn some heads and see what happens for next year."

CHASE MONTGOMERY, NO. 27 TRIMSPA PONTIAC:

"We got off to a slow start. We got a lap down early and got our lap back when the caution came out. We had a few breaks. We came in and got tires after we got our lap back and the broke the left front wheel bearing. I don't know what it is. I ran an ARCA race last week and broke two of them and it cost me a win there and then is cost us a great run today. At the end of the race we were running what we felt like were real competitive lap times. I don't know that we would have had anything for David (Green, race winner and teammate) but we're happy for him. David is a good buddy of mine and he helps me out a bunch. We're proud of him." DID YOU FEEL A VIBRATION? "I went off into one and after we took tires and then it shot up toward the top of the racetrack. The wheel bearing was already broken so it was kind of driving itself. At the end of race we got a vibration and we don't really know what it was so we came in and got tires. We thought it might have been a tire and that didn't seem to be the case. We'll look at it when we get back to the shop and then head to Charlotte and have some fun." ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THE WAY YOU RAN IN THE RACE? "The car was good. We felt like all weekend the car was better than what it showed. We ran into some problems and it cost us several laps. I didn't even know where we came home but it felt like we had a top-15, maybe even a top-10 car."
