Ford 300 - Jason Leffler Notes
Jason Leffler will make his 41st NASCAR Busch Series start and sixth for the Haas CNC Racing team this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
JASON LEFFLER ON HOMESTEAD…”We won’t really know what we’ve got until we get there since the track has all that new banking, but everybody is in the same boat, and I feel confident in this Haas Automation team. Bootie and I worked pretty well together in our first race together last week and the more time we spend at the shop and at the track the better it will be. We’ll go down and test on Tuesday and see what happens. It’s a good opportunity for us to work with each other and learn to communicate effectively with each other and the rest of the team. Really, that’s what these last four or five races have been about, but it was still disappointing that we weren’t able to put together a really good finish. We keep running into problems that are pretty much out of our control – like the flat tire last week – and that makes for long days. I know this team is headed in the right direction and we’ll put our heads together early in the off season and figure out exactly what we need to do to get it ready to run for the championship next year. I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be able to show up at every race and have a legitimate shot at winning.
“It’s been a strange year, no doubt about that. I’ve run Trucks, I’ve run Cup and I’ve run in the Busch Series, but I feel like I have a good home here at Haas CNC Racing and I know everyone there is willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. I’m looking forward to next season already.”
