Vickers Wins at Darlington
Youth was served in the Winn-Dixie 200 at Darlington Raceway on Saturday. 19-year-old Brain Vickers took the victory in the Busch series race, while 18-year-old teammate Kyle Busch finished in the runner-up spot. Vickers’ pit crew helped him win the race, getting him out in front of the field during the final caution flag of the day. Vickers was able to stay out front and cruise to a 1.977-second win, his second of the 2003 season. The second-place effort was the second in three starts for Busch. Michael Waltrip crossed the finish line in the third position, followed by Bobby Hamilton Jr. and Kevin Harvick in the top five.

Harvick turned in a fast lap in 29.356 seconds, at an average speed of 167.516 mph, to capture his fourth pole of the season. Winston Cup regulars make out the front row on the starting grid, as Jamie McMurray will start alongside Harvick from the outside pole.
