Koolerz 300 - Daytona International Speedway

Dale Jr. Continues Dominance at Daytona
Dale Earnhardt Jr. won his second consecutive Busch Grand National season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, winning the Koolerz 300 under caution. Earnhardt took the lead in the pits on lap 54 and never looked back, leading the remainder of the event. Earnhardt’s victory gives him three wins in his last four BGN starts and 16 wins in his Busch career. Matt Kenseth followed Earnhardt to the checkered flag, taking home the second position. Kevin Harvick, who led the race early until a penalty for a pit-road mishap, fought back to finish third, while Mike Wallace and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five.

Nemechek Wins Another Daytona Pole
"Front Row" Joe Nemechek lived up to his nickname on Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway capturing the Bud Pole for Saturday's Koolerz 300, the season opener to the NASCAR Busch Series. Nemechek turned a fast lap of 186.050 mph to earn his fourth straight NASCAR Busch Series pole at Daytona. The Lakeland, Fla., native has won the poles for the past two Koolerz 300s and took the pole for last year's inaugural Busch Series summer race. Nemechek will have defending Koolerz 300 champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. alongside for the start of Saturday's 120-lap race. Earnhardt Jr. took outside pole honors with a lap of 185.586 mph.
