Channellock 250 - Todd Bodine Notes

MOMENTUM LEADS HERZOG JACKSON MOTORSPORTS TO BRISTOL

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 18, 2003) A day after one of the biggest races of Todd Bodine's career, the Herzog Jackson Motorsports team is getting back to business. After winning the Darlingtonraceway.com 200 on Monday in one of the most dramatic finishes in Darlington's history, the No. 92 organization is looking forward to taking their Chevrolet Monte Carlo to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

Deemed the 'World's Fastest Half-Mile", this .533-mile oval track is one of the most popular tracks on the NASCAR Busch Series circuit for drivers and fans alike. With three top-tens, two top-fives and a victory under his belt this season already, Bodine heads to Saturday's Channellock 250 in first place in the NASCAR Busch Series driver's points race, 37 points ahead of second place.

Todd Bodine has seen his share of success at the infamous half -mile track. Making his debut at Bristol in the spring of 1991, he has run there 18 times, accumulating nine top-ten finishes, seven top-fives and two victories. This translates into an over fifty percent top-ten finish rate for Bodine, who drove the Herzog Jackson Motorsports Chevy to an eighth place finish at last spring's Channellock 250. "I really love racing at Bristol," exclaimed Bodine. "Not only is it a fun track to race, but the whole atmosphere is really amazing. Seeing the fans in the stands with all the cameras flashing, it really adds to the whole crazy scene that is Bristol."

Herzog Jackson Motorsports has run at Bristol six times previously in the Busch Series, finishing as high as fourth place in the spring of 2001 with driver Jimmie Johnson at the wheel. Last spring, the No. 92 organization posted a top-ten finish in only their second start with Todd Bodine of the 2002 season. "Todd Bodine and Herzog Jackson Motorsports have meshed from the beginning," stated team owner Stan Herzog. "He brings us a level of consistency that is key to remaining successful in NASCAR."

Crew chief Tony "Rambo" Liberati and crew are hoping to add to their success in the pits. In the previous three races of the 2003 season, the pit stops have been integral in Bodine taking the lead. In Monday's Darlingtonraceway.com 200, it was no different. A couple of 15.0-second pit stops helped Bodine stay in the front of the pack. "My crew is simply the best I've ever worked with," said Bodine on Monday in victory lane. "They are the reason I'm standing here, my hat goes off to them and everyone on the team. We are definitely looking forward to heading to Bristol next weekend and repeating our performance of today."

Live television coverage of the Channellock 250 will begin at 12:30 pm EST on FX. PRN radio will also broadcast the event live beginning at 12:30 pm EST.
