Biffle Wins from Pole in Atlanta
Greg Biffle had to overcome a lot on Saturday afternoon in order to win the Aaron's 312 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Biffle endured a flat tire before the race even started, ran out of gas, and suffered a speeding violation on pit road. Biffle took the lead with 10 laps to go and won by .961 seconds over Winston Cup teammate Matt Kenseth. The win is the second for Biffle in the last three races and the 11th of his Busch series career. Biffle becomes only the second driver to win a Busch race from the pole position at Atlanta. Kenseth finished second after starting from the rear of the field following an engine change. Bobby Hamilton Jr. came home in third, as Michael Waltrip and Hank Parker Jr. made out the top five in the finishing order.
Biffle Captures AMS Busch Pole
Greg Biffle put the No. 7 Chevrolet on the pole position for the second consecutive week. Last week in Memphis, David Reutimann qualified the car while Biffle was in Martinsville and won his first career pole. This week Biffle earned the pole himself. Biffle qualified in 28.830 seconds, at an average speed of 192.300 mph, to set a new Atlanta Motor Speedway track record. The pole is the first of the season for Biffle and the eighth of his Busch series career. Kevin Harvick will start from the outside pole, followed by David Green and Casey Mears in row two.
