Injured PA Firefighter Set to Take on the Monster Mile
When the Jay Robinson Racing / Choice Sportscards # 39 Ford Taurus climbs the high banks of the Monster Mile in Dover for the Stacker 200 Bush Series race September 20th, It will be taking a very special message with it. The name of an injured suburban Philadelphia firefighter along with the signatures of the many friends and supporters who are coming to his aid.
Bill Hammond, long time firefighter /EMT and former Assistant Chief of the Concordville Fire Company in Delaware County, PA has devoted more than 20 years of his life helping others. Bill recently suffered a life threatening injury from a accident that has rendered him a paraplegic. Lengthy hospital stays and a series of debilitating set backs have delayed him from getting into rehabilitation. Bill has faced this challenge with the same calm determination and a positive attitude that he's imparted on the many individuals whose lives he's touched over the years as a firefighter.
The Community and firefighters from across the Philadelphia region are coming together for a special benefit for Hammond September 13, 2003 from 6 to 10pm At the fire station just off Rt. 1 south of Rt. 322 in Delaware County, PA (www.concordville.org)
Along with a live band and great food, guests will have an opportunity to bid on a impressive list of silent auction items and sign the rear deck lid of the #39 Ford Taurus.
