AMI Semiconductor to Sponsor Scott Wimmer in Atlanta NBS Event

October 22, 2002 (High Point, NC) AMI Semiconductor (AMIS) has signed a one-race deal to sponsor Scott Wimmer's No. 23 Pontiac for the upcoming NASCAR Busch Series race in Atlanta this weekend.

"We are proud of the relationships we enjoy with global car manufacturers and automotive suppliers and we chose to use this NASCAR sponsorship to highlight our commitment to the automotive industry," said Chris King, president and CEO of AMI Semiconductor.

Despite their strong performance this season, marked with two wins, nine top-five and 15 top-10 finishes, Wimmer's team has been without sponsorship for over half the year and are very happy to have AMIS on board for the event.

"We're very happy to have AMI Semiconductor sponsor us this weekend at Atlanta," said Wimmer. "I'm glad we are able to help meet their marketing goals with this sponsorship and I hope we can get this car into victory lane this weekend for them. Atlanta has been a good track for me and I know we'll have a strong race package there. Hopefully, we can achieve success together both on and off the track."
