Notes:

CHASSIS NO: JR-63: This car has four wins in 10 starts, making it one of Biffle’s favorite in the fleet.

2002: Bristol Spring race (5th), Richmond Spring (3rd), Dover Spring (1st), and Milwaukee (1st).

2001: Nazareth (1st), Kentucky (2nd), Gateway (4th), Dover Fall (5th), Memphis (20th), Phoenix (1st).

LAST YEAR: Biffle qualified second and led the first 107 laps of the event. He fell back to 15th with 78 laps to go because many competitors were on a different pit sequence. Biffle diced his way through the field, however, en route to a runner-up finish.

BIFFLE AT TRACK: Biffle has three top-five and four top-10 finishes in four races run at IRP in either the Busch Series or Craftsman Truck Series. He has an average start of 5.25 and an average finish of 3.75 at the track.

POINTS RACE: Biffle and the Grainger team increased their lead over second-place Jason Keller to 77 points in the overall Busch Series standings with their second-place finish at Pikes Peak Int’l. Raceway on July 27.

EXTRA: Biffle will attempt to make his second career Winston Cup start in the Pepsi 400 at Michigan Int’l. Speedway on Aug. 17.

BIFFLE’S QUOTES…

“IRP is one of those tracks where you really have to get after it. It’s a short track, so you constantly have to be working the throttle, brakes and steering wheel. You’re also running side-by-side and in traffic most of the race, so you have to be very aware of what the other competitors are doing.

“The track is relatively flat, so the key is to get the car turning in the center of the corner and then have a lot of forward bite exiting. We had a good run there last year, so we’ll start out the day with that setup and just adjust from there. The Grainger team has done pretty well at IRP in the past, and we’re hoping to keep that up this weekend.”
