Subway 300 - Matt Kenseth Notes Matt Kenseth / Visine Racing Pre-Race Notes for Talladega Superspeedway KENSETH AT TALLADEGA: In four NASCAR Busch Series races at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama, Matt Kenseth has finished among the top 10 three times. He has led a total of 40 laps at the 2.66-mile track. Also, Kenseth has been on the lead lap at the conclusion of all four events. OWNERS' POINTS BATTLE: Reiser Enterprises holds the seventh spot in the owners' points standings with 985 points through eight NASCAR Busch Series events. Matt Kenseth is currently 17th in the drivers' points standings with 824 points in six races. In two races, Clay Rogers has accumulated 161 points for the Visine Racing team. KENSETH TO DRIVE NEXT THREE RACES: Matt Kenseth will drive the Visine car in the Subway 300 on April 21 at Talladega Superspeedway. He will continue to drive the No. 17 machine at California Speedway and Richmond International Raceway before handing driving duties back to Rogers. Rogers is scheduled to drive in the CVS/pharmacy 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, N.H., on May 12. MATT KENSETH'S Comments on TALLADEGA: "I'm not a big fan of the restrictor plate races, but I do like running at a place where we've had success in the past. We've had good finishes at Talladega with fast cars. We've pretty much always been in the hunt in the Busch races there. It will be interesting to see what effects the rules changes will have on the racing. We're bringing the same car that we won Daytona with last year, so hopefully, we'll be there with a shot to win at the end. I'm all rested up after my week off and ready to go." Last year's TOUCHSTONE ENERGY 300 (April 15, 2000): Despite leading more than a dozen laps in the Touchstone Energy 300, Matt Kenseth finished 21st at Talladega Superspeedway. Kenseth was in second place with 11 laps remaining when he made a dive for the inside lane of the track. Without any car to follow for drafting support, the Visine Chevrolet drifted back in the field to finish 21st. After a right-rear tire blew and severely damaged the body of the car during the final practice on Friday, the team used the backup car in the race. Last Race: Turn two at Nashville Superspeedway in Tennessee gave Clay Rogers plenty of headaches during the Pepsi 300 race weekend. After wrecking there at the beginning of the Friday morning practice, his backup Visine car hit the wall in the same turn, midway through the Busch Series race. As a result, Rogers finished 37th. His day ended abruptly just after completing 100 laps of the 225-lap race. Following a restart due to the seventh caution of the event, Rogers and Steadman Marlin got tangled in turn two, resulting in the wreck. Sponsor Notes: Partners on the Visine Chevrolet for the Subway 300 are BenGay and Cortizone, products produced by Pfizer Consumer Health Care.
