Subway 300 - Talladega Superspeedway

McLaughlin Wins at Talladega
Mike McLaughlin held off Jimmy Spencer to claim his first victory at the Talladega Superspeedway. McLaughlin, who led the final 31 laps, won for the sixth time in his Busch Grand National career and became the eighth different winner in nine races. Rookie Greg Biffle took advantage of bad luck by Kevin Harvick and Jason Keller to jump into the points lead. Biffle leads Harvick by seven points.

Nemechek on Talladega Busch Pole
It's a duplicate-Daytona front row for the Subway 300 at Talladega. Just like the season-opening race at Daytona, Joe Nemechek will start from the pole position, while teammate Randy Lajoie will start along side from the second spot. In fact, the top three starting positions mirror Daytona, with Jimmy Spencer replacing PJ Jones in the 1 car starting third. Nemechek qualified in 50.472 seconds, at an average speed of 189.729 mph, giving Pontiac four of the top-five starting positions. Kevin Harvick and Jeff Purvis round out the top five.
