Jani-King 300 - Texas Motor Speedway
Harvick Wins at Texas
Kevin Harvick held off Jeff Burton by .246 seconds to win the Jani-King 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Harvick led for 114 of the event's 200 laps to score his first Busch series victory of the season, his fourth career win. Following the second-place Burton to the stripe were Jay Sauter, Joe Nemecheck,and Matt Kenseth.
Kenseth Runs to Texas Pole
Matt Kenseth set a new track record on his way to capturing the Jani-King 300 pole position. Kenseth toured the Texas Motor Speedway in 28.439 seconds, at an average speed of 189.880 mph, to claim his second pole of the 2001 season. Jeff Green will join Kenseth on the front row, while Joe Nemechek and Bobby Hamilton Jr. round out row two.
