Autolite Platinum 250 - Jimmie Johnson Notes Johnson Makes Final "PM" Appearance CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 5, 2001) – Jimmie Johnson and the Excedrin Racing team are making their final "PM" appearance this Friday in the Autolite FRAM 250 at Richmond International Raceway (RIR). This weekend marks the sixth time that the Herzog Motorsports team has run the blue Excedrin PM paint scheme, proudly displaying the nighttime pain reliever at each night race on the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. With eight top-10 finishes under their belts in 25 starts in the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series season, the Excedrin PM Racing team is counting on a top finish to add to the number this weekend in Richmond to help them reach their final goal. As the team currently sits in the eighth position in the NASCAR Busch Series driver points standings, Herzog Motorsports is well on thier way of meeting the team's goal to better their 10th place finish in the 2000 points standings. "Since this is the last time that Herzog Motorsports will run the No. 92 Excedrin PM Chevrolet Monte Carlo this season, the team is hoping to bring home a top-five "PM" finish in the final night race of the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series season," said Johnson. "It would be an exciting end to a great marketing program with Excedrin PM and the NASCAR Busch Series' night races." Friday night will be Johnson's fourth race under the lights at the ¾-mile Richmond facility, a track that he has added to his list of favorites. "I like racing at night and I love short tracks," stated Johnson. "I'm hoping that will give the Excedrin PM Racing team a winning combination this weekend in Richmond. Our best finish at RIR is 12th, we're counting on having a much higher finish this Friday night." In preparation for the Autolite FRAM 250, Johnson will be participating in the Busch Party Zone Friday afternoon, just outside the entrance to Richmond International Raceway. Johnson will be available for autographs and pictures from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. As the NASCAR Busch Series prepares to drop the green flag for the 26th race of the season, the No. 92 Excedrin PM Chevrolet Monte Carlo is preparing to make its final start in 2001, live on the TNT Television Network and MRN Radio Network at 7:30 p.m. Friday night September 7.
