NAPA AutoCare 250 - Pikes Peak International Raceway

Purvis Dominates at Pikes Peak
Jeff Purvis, who was released from his driving duties at Joe Gibbs Racing three weeks ago, found victory lane in the 21 Chevrolet of Richard Childress Racing. Purvis won the NAPA Auto Care 250 at Pikes Peak International Raceway by some 16 seconds over Jeff Green. The win is the first for Purvis since 1996 and the third of his Busch Grand National career. Green edged point leader Kevin Harvick at the finish line to take second, while Harvick settled for third. Harvick finished just ahead of his two closest pursuers in the point chase, Jason Keller and Greg Biffle, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.
