QUOTES

Driver Mike Skinner on Nashville…

"It's pretty hard to tell how we're going to do this weekend. I had to deal with going to a lot of new tracks when I was racing in the Truck Series in '95 and '96. We did good at some, not so good at others. Even though I haven't seen it yet, this place seems to be my style of track with the banking and particulars of the layout. I'm going in with my eyes wide open."

Skinner on driving the No. 21 Chevy…

"I'm definitely excited for this weekend. A lot of Cup guys would be disappointed that they don't get the weekend off, but I'm actually looking forward to this. I don't think there will be much of an adjustment period besides learning the different sayings and language that we use. Everyone has a way of giving feedback, and we seemed to do a great job of it at Texas so I'm not worried. The 2 and the 21 are a great Busch operation that work well together. We should be competitive quickly."

Crew chief Gil Martin on Nashville…

"It's going to be to our benefit going to a new track with a driver like Mike Skinner. He's a veteran driver who's got a lot of confidence in himself as well as the cars he drives. He showed that when he went to new venues on the Truck Series, he always got up to speed quickly and ran well."

Martin on Skinner in the car…

"Just like two weeks ago, there won't be a big difference with Mike (Skinner) in the car. Everybody got a good feel working with him in Texas and the team seems to be adjusting to him really quickly. I think they're eager to see what he can bring to the table."

NOTES

It's Official… Mike Dillon has stepped down as the driver of the No. 21 Rockwell Automation Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. In 37 races driving for RCR, Dillon posted two top-10 finishes and qualified in the top-10 eight times.

Skinner's In… RCR Winston Cup driver Mike Skinner has been tagged as Dillon's replacement in the No. 21 machine, at least for Nashville and the remaining companion events. Skinner filled in for Dillon at Texas two weeks ago and had a great run, leading 52 laps and finishing ninth. It has not been announced yet who will drive the races that conflict with the Winston Cup schedule.

Testing… Nobody is sure how the new Nashville Superspeedway will drive, but teammate Kevin Harvick has a good idea. He participated in a Goodyear Tire Test here in March and brought a lot of good information back to both RCR Busch teams.

New Track, Old Car… Team Rock will take the same No. 21 RCR Chevy that they raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway back on March 3rd in the Sam's Town 300. The team finished 18th, climbing 20 spots from a 38th starting position. They only had to make one change for this week's race, a new seat.
