Sam's Club 200 - North Carolina Speedway
Wallace Wins at Rockingham, Harvick Wins Title
Kenny Wallace took the checkered flag for the Sam's Club 200 at North Carolina Speedway after leader Jeff Green ran out of gas on the restart with two laps to go. Wallace only led for ten laps on the day, while Green dominated, leading 121 of 197 circuits. For Wallace the win is the ninth in his Busch Grand National career, his first this season. Kevin Harvick crossed the stripe in fifth, while Green finished ninth, giving Harvick his first BGN championship. Harvick holds a 205 point lead with one race remaining, mathematically eliminating Green.
Newman Takes Rockingham Busch Pole
Ryan Newman won the pole position for the Sam's Club 200 at the North Carolina Speedway. Newman qualified in 23.773 seconds, at an average speed of 154.007 mph, to win his sixth Busch pole of the season in only 14 races. Kenny Wallace will start from the outside pole, followed by point-leader Kevin Harvick and defending series champion Jeff Green in row two.
