NAPAOnline.com 250 - Mike McLaughlin Notes McLaughlin Looks Forward to Michigan .... Finished fifth in emotional race last season Brooklyn, MI -- Mike McLaughlin will be looking for a second straight top-five finish at the Michigan Speedway on Saturday. Last year, McLaughlin held back his emotions with his father ailing back home in Waterloo, NY to finish fifth. The finish allowed McLaughlin to give his father one more exciting finish before he passed away just two weeks later. This Saturday, McLaughlin returns for the NAPAonline.com 250 with his focus on placing the #18 MBNA Pontiac back in the front of the pack. The veteran driver for Joe Gibbs Racing’s # 18 Pontiac has been stuck in a run of bad luck over the last few races. Solid top-ten finishes have slipped away with wrecks not of his own making and other mishaps. McLaughlin knows his MBNA sponsored team is capable of running up front each and every week. "This is a very solid racing team, we have just been the victim of some unfortunate happenings here of late. Everyone is refocused following our off week and we are ready for a strong weekend in Michigan." The NAPAonline.com 250 will take the green flag at 1:00pm EDT Saturday. TNT and MRN will provide live coverage of the event. PIT NOTES The MBNA Racing Team has been busy during the last ten days. The team held a two-day test at Bristol Motor Speedway and followed that up with a day at Carraway Speedway in North Carolina. Joe Gibbs Racing continues to search for a sponsor for its second Busch Series Team. The team competed full time for the first half of the season, before going to the sidelines until sponsorship could be located for both teams. The team led many races and finished second at the California Speedway earlier this year. Joe Gibbs Racing Vice President of Business, Dean Noble is leading the search for a sponsor for the remainder of the year as well as next season. Noble can be reached at 704-944-5000
