Newman Dominates Michigan
Ryan Newman won his first-ever Busch Grand National race, taking the checkered flag in the NAPAOnline.com 250 at Michigan. Newman held off point leader Kevin Harvick by more than a second to win in only his ninth BGN start. Newman dominated the race from start to finish, leading 116 of the event's 125 laps. Harvick solidified his series point lead by finishing second, while Greg Biffle slipped to third, finishing dead last. Tony Raines crossed the finish line in third place, while Jimmie Johnson and Mike McLaughlin rounded out the top five.
Spencer on Michigan Pole
Jimmy Spencer never forgets... how to win pole positions! Two weeks after winning his first Winston Cup pole since 1994, Spencer broke his streak in the Busch series, gaining the top-starting spot for the NAPAOnline.com 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Spencer's lap of 38.956 seconds, at an average speed of 184.824 mph, set a new Michigan track record. Ryan Newman will start along side of Spencer in the second spot, while Mike Skinner and Jeff Green start from the second row.
