Sam's Town 300 - Chad Chaffin Notes

Chad Chaffin
No. 25 Marines Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Las Vegas Race Notes

Pre-Race Notes

* This weekends running of the Sam’s Town 300 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be Chad Chaffin’s second race in Las Vegas. Both Chaffin and Team Rensi Motorsports have had only one showing at Vegas and look forward to the No. 25 Marines Chevrolet Monte Carlo making a good impression.

* Chaffin arrives in Las Vegas one week after finishing 22 nd at The North Carolina Speedway. The young driver drove a good race, which was comforting since the car raced last weekend is the back-up car for the race on Saturday.

* Chaffin is glad to have gained nine spots in points last weekend, putting him 31 st in the season standings going into this weekends event. Being a new driver to Team Rensi Motorsports, Chaffin and crew need to be consistent each week to finish well at the end of the season and things are looking up.

Quotes

Chaffin on Las Vegas Motor Speedway: “The Marines Chevrolet should run really well this weekend. We did test here and it went well. We’re obviously still looking for more speed in our qualifying package, but we did do some race run work and feel pretty good about our consistency. I’m really looking forward to a good race. Coming off a 22 nd place last week, I feel we can definitely improve on that. Obviously this team is used to top-ten results consistently and I hope to at least improve on what we’ve done so far and maybe we can come out of here in the top-ten and if not, we’re just going to do the best we can. Having tested here I feel comfortable with the car and I’m really pumped up.”
