Little Trees 300 - Mike McLaughlin Notes McLAUGHLIN RETURNS TO SITE OF BUSCH SERIES DEBUT IN 1984 HARRISBURG, NC --- It's been 17 years since Mike McLaughlin and a group of friends from the Busch North Series ventured to what was then called Charlotte Motor Speedway for his NASCAR Busch Series debut. Driving the # 73 Pontiac, McLaughlin managed to qualify 17th and finish 14th. Little did anyone know, McLaughlin would go on to a successful Busch Series career, earning over $4,000,000 in career earnings. McLaughlin will attempt to add to that total this weekend as he pilots the # 18 MBNA Pontiac for Joe Gibbs Racing. "I have always enjoyed racing here at home, we managed to win in 1998 and that was an awesome experience," McLaughlin said. "Hopefully we can capitalize on our opportunity this weekend and record another strong finish." McLaughlin and the remainder of the NASCAR Busch Series will take the green flag in the Little Trees 300 Saturday afternoon at 12:00pm EDT.
