Welcome aboard! … Circle K Southwest is the associate sponsor on the #37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet for the Auto Club 300 this weekend. Circle K Southwest has 350 retail outlets in California.

Last week at Talladega … Kevin Grubb qualified 21st and finished 8th in the Subway 300 last Saturday at the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway. The 8th-place finish was Grubb’s first top-ten of the 2001 season and his first top ten since he ran 7th at Dover (DE) last September. The 8th-place finish at Talladega enabled Grubb to gain two positions in the overall Busch Series point standings. Grubb stands 22nd after nine events on the 2001 tour.

Brewco to debut new car … Kevin Grubb will drive a new car from the Brewco Motorsports stable in the Auto Club 300 this Saturday. In fact, the car is so new that the crew hasn’t yet given it a name. The Laughlin chassis car was built to the same specifications as "Hunter" and "Hunter Jr.", two of Grubb’s favorite Timber Wolf Chevrolets in the Brewco fleet. Hopefully, after another strong performance this weekend, the crew could name him "Champ", "Lucky", or "Victor(y)".

Kevin Grubb on the Auto Club 300 and the California Speedway… "California’s been a tough track for me. It’s fast and wide. You can run two or three wide all day, but your car has got to have a strong motor and handle well to be successful. I’m hoping last week at Talladega (8th) is the first in a long string of top ten finishes for this Timber Wolf Team. I’m anxious to drive our new car this weekend. If it’s anything like "Hunter", it’ll be strong. I feel like good things are ahead for this team."
