No Truth to Rumor that Parker Jr. will Drive for ppc Racing
CONCORD, N.C. (July 11) -- NASCAR Busch Series driver Hank Parker Jr. today
denied rumors that he will replace Jeff Green in the No. 10 ppc Racing Ford
in 2002.
"When I agreed to drive for Cicci-Welliver Racing, I signed a two-year
contract that will keep me in the No. 36 GNC Live Well Chevrolet until the
end of next season," Parker said. "GNC Live Well has been a tremendous
sponsor, they've done a lot for me and their support has not wavered.
They're committed to me, so I'm committed to them. It's hard to find
sponsors like that and I'm grateful to have a relationship with one of the
most active sponsors in the sport.
"To be honest with you, I didn't even want to respond to this rumor, because
that's all it is -- a rumor. Hopefully, by addressing this now, though, I
won't have to answer the same question 20 times when we get to Chicago. My
focus is on getting the No. 36 GNC Live Well Chevy up front every week,
period."
