Excedrin Racing Makes Pledge to American Red Cross
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 19, 2001) - To help aide in relief efforts in both New York City and Washington, D.C., Excedrin, a product of New York City based Bristol-Myers Squibb, is pledging to donate funds to the American Red Cross for every lap that the No. 92 Excedrin-sponsored Chevrolet Monte Carlo completes this Saturday at Dover Downs International Speedway.
Bristol-Myers Squibb, the company that produces Excedrin, will donate $25 for each lap of the 200-lap event that driver Jimmie Johnson and the No. 92 Excedrin Chevrolet Monte Carlo circle the one-mile Dover facility.
“This is the Excedrin Racing team’s way of supporting the men and women working so hard in New York and Washington, D.C.,” said Johnson. “We are planning to have a great run this weekend in Dover and are looking forward to doing one small thing to help all of those in need.”
If Johnson and the Excedrin Racing team finish Saturday’s MBNA.com 200 on the lead lap, Bristol-Myers Squibb will donate a total of $5,000 on behalf of Excedrin to the American Red Cross.
“Several of the NASCAR Busch Series and Winston Cup sponsors are coming together to offer our support to the American Red Cross,” stated Don Corwin, an Excedrin Executive. “This is just one of the many ways that Bristol-Myers Squibb is offering our assistance in the search, rescue and recovery efforts.”
In addition to Excedrin, a number of other NASCAR Busch Series sponsors will also be participating in the pledge.
The mission of Bristol-Myers Squibb is to extend and enhance human life by providing the highest quality health and personal care products.
