Econo Lodge 200 - Nazareth Speedway
Hornaday Wins First BGN Race at Nazareth
Rookie Ron Hornaday won his first-ever Busch Grand National race, taking the checkered flag for the Econo Lodge 200 at Nazareth Speedway. Hornaday beat Elton Sawyer to the finish line by 1.991 seconds to win in his 27th BGN start. Jason Keller, Jeff Green, and Kyle Petty would round out the top five in the event. Green now leads teammate Keller by a whopping 499 points in the chase for the BGN championship.
Another Pole for Green
It's a family affair at Nazareth, brothers Jeff and David Green will start side-by-side on the front row for the Econo Lodge 200. Younger brother Jeff turned in a qualifying lap of 27.190 seconds, at 132.402 mph, to grab his series-leading sixth pole position of the season. Elder brother David will start along side of Jeff from the outside pole, followed by Elton Sawyer and Ron Hornaday in row two.
