Jeff Burton claimed his second BGN win of the 2000 season, holding off fellow teammate Mark Martin by .934 seconds to win for the 12th time in his BGN career. With Burton's win, 10 of the season's 13 races have been won by a Winston Cup regular.

Blaney Grabs Pole at Lowe's Motor Speedway
Dave Blaney roared to the Busch Grand National pole position at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. Blaney turned in a record-breaking lap of 30.404 seconds, at 177.608 mph, to edge Mark Martin for the top spot. Elton Sawyer takes the honor as the highest starting BGN regular at third, while Jeff Burton starts fourth.
