Kroger 200 - Indianapolis Raceway Park
Hornaday Wins at IRP
Ron Hornaday took the checkerd flag for the Kroger 200, winning at Indianapolis Raceway Park for the second time. Hornaday, who won the Craftsman Truck series race at IRP in 1997, held off Jeff Purvis by .309 seconds to take his second win of the 2000 season in his 30th career Busch Grand National start. Hornaday's win marks the third race won by a BGN rookie this year.
Leffler Takes IRP Pole
Jason Leffler will start the Kroger 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park from the pole position tonight. Leffler's qualifying lap of 21.933 seconds, at an average speed of 112.597 mph, earned him his second pole of the 2000 season. Point leader Jeff Green will start from the outside pole, while Elton Sawyer and Hermie Sadler will start third and fourth respectively.
