Miami 300 - Homestead-Miami Speedway
Gordon Wins Busch Finale
Two drivers competing in their final Busch Grand National race, Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin were looking to go out on a winning note. Gordon was able to go out on top, holding off Martin by .241 seconds to win the Miami 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The win was the first BGN victory of the season for Gordon and the fifth of his career. 2000 BGN champion Jeff Green crossed the finish line third, followed by teammate Jason Keller in fourth.
Hamilton Jr. Wins Miami Pole
Bobby Hamilton Jr. set a new track record at Homestead-Miami Speedway, taking the pole position for the Busch Grand National event on Saturday. Hamilton Jr. toured the flat, Miami track in 35.646 seconds, at an average speed of 151.490 mph, to grab the top spot. Mark Martin, competing in his final BGN race, will start from the outside pole, while Hank Parker Jr. and Elton Sawyer will start from the second row.
