NAPA Auto Parts 300 - Daytona International Speedway

 

Kenseth Wins at Daytona
Matt Kenseth claimed the win in the Busch Grand National season-opener, the NAPA Auto Parts 300 at the Daytona International Speedway. Kenseth was able to hold off fellow Winston Cup competitors Joe Nemechek and Terry Labonte to take the checkered flag by .153 seconds over Nemechek. The win is the eighth career BGN victory for Kenseth.

    Nemechek's Lap Disallowed, Stricklin Moves to Pole
    Hut Stricklin will be the pole sitter for Saturday's NAPA Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Busch Series event at Daytona International Speedway after Joe Nemechek's qualifying speed was disallowed by NASCAR officials. Nemechek's speed of 189.225 mph in his No. 87 Cellular One Chevrolet failed to meet weight distribution requirements in a post-qualifying inspection.
