Davis & Weight Motorsports Signs Green Jacksonville, FL (November 28, 2000) - Mark Green has signed a contract to compete in the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series season with Davis & Weight Motorsports, team owner Jerry Davis announced today. Green brings five years previous experience in the NASCAR Busch Series to the #55 Ford, including 1 top-five and 8 top-ten finishes in just over 100 starts. Green completed his first full year of competition in the Busch Series in 1997 by finishing a career-best 11th in the final point standings with 1 top-five and 5 top-ten finishes. Green continued success in his young Busch Series career in 1998 by finishing 13th in the final point standings, collecting 4 top-10 finishes along the way. “We are excited that Mark will be joining our team for the 2001 season. We feel his driving skills, coupled with the quality of our engines and chassis should enable us to be a top-10 team consistently in 2001,” said Davis. “I am really looking forward to next season. I think that both Davis & Weight Motorsports and I did not fulfill our expectations last year. Hopefully my addition will be the missing link this team needs to be successful. These guys are a good crew with good equipment, and I am looking forward to working with them to put a winning package together,” said Green. The team currently seeks corporate partners for the 2001 Busch Series season.
