Richert Named Team Manager for Gibbs Busch Series Operations

CHARLOTTE --- Steve de Souza, Joe Gibbs Racing Vice President of Busch and Truck Operations, announced today a reorganization within the Joe Gibbs Racing Busch Series program. Doug Richert has been appointed Team Manager for both Busch Series Teams. Richert will also retain his position as crew chief for the #4 Porter-Cable Power Tools Racing Team, driven by Jeff Purvis.

"In placing Doug in this role we believe it will be to the benefit of both of our racing teams," de Souza said. "We are setting this up very similar to the way our Winston Cup teams are set up with Jimmy Makar serving as team manager for both the #18 and #20 teams."

de Souza also announced that Tim Shutt has been promoted from car chief to the position of crew chief for the #18 MBNA Pontiac driven by Jason Leffler.
