Top-25 Finish for Green at Darlington
David Green finished 25th in the Southern 500 at Darlington, substituting for an injured Bill Elliott in the number 94 Taurus.
Green was involved in an accident on lap 173, hitting the spinning car of Geoffrey Bodine. After numerous pit stops, Green returned to the track three laps down.
The McDonald's team used attrition to gain several spots, in the finishing order. Rain caused the event to end 39 laps short of the scheduled 367 laps. Green was credited with the 25th position, four laps down.
