Race 2 Win Radio Takes An Unplanned Hiatus

Taylors, SC, March 25, 2010 – If you tuned in to hear Race 2 Win Radio’s weekly NASCAR program today, you may have discovered that the show was not on the air in its normal time slot, Thursday from 1-3 PM EST. Due to an unexpected equipment malfunction, the popular internet radio show is reluctantly taking an indefinite hiatus.

As soon as the situation is remedied, Race 2 Win Radio will return to the airwaves, bringing you the latest news, views, and insider reports straight from the garage each week. Show host Jeff Holtzclaw, co-hosts Tim George Jr., Caitlin Shaw, and Heather Meyer, team spotter Mike Calinoff, and an exceptional array of NASCAR writers and special guests, all look forward to being back on the air as quickly as possible.

Gear Up for Racing at Bristol with Race 2 Win Radio’s Jam-Packed Broadcast

Taylors, SC, March 18, 2010 – Bristol Motor Speedway is billed as ‘racing the way it ought to be,’ and fans can prepare for all the beatin’ and bangin’ by tuning in to this week’s Race 2 Win Radio show, bringing you NASCAR radio the way it ought to be.

Show host Jeff Holtzclaw will be joined by an exceptional group of co-hosts, including drivers Coleman Pressley, Tim George Jr. and Caitlin Shaw, along with the Stock Car Gazette's Heather Meyer. Special guests this week are drivers Regan Smith, Justin Lofton and Richard Garvie; NASCAR writer Jeff Gluck and spotter Mike Calinoff round out the impressive list of participants.

Coleman Pressley is co-hosting the first hour of the show, which airs from 1-3 PM EST on www.blogtalkradio.com/race2win, followed by Tim George Jr. from 2-2:30 and Caitlin Shaw from 2:30-3:00. Pressley, age 21, is a third-generation racer making his debut at Bristol with his new team, R3 Motorsports, which recently signed the talented driver to a multi-race Nationwide deal. George Jr. is an RCR Development Driver currently racing in the ARCA Series and was the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex GT Series Rookie of the Year.

Regan Smith pilots the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and has also competed in the Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series. He finished 14th in his most recent Cup start at Atlanta and has a best finish of 14th at Bristol. Smith was Cup Series Rookie of the Year in 2008 driving for Dale Earnhardt, Inc., becoming the first rookie in Cup history to finish every race he started in his freshman season.

Justin Lofton, driver of the No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota, is competing full-time in the Camping World Truck Series this season. Justin is currently 18th in Truck Series title points and is the reigning ARCA Series Champion, having won six of 21 races in that series last season.

Richard Garvie, an English stock-car racer, drives the Dawn Brancheau Fund car (www.racingfordawn.com) in the ARCA Series. Brancheau is the SeaWorld Orlando trainer who passed away last month after a tragic accident at the facility. Garvie’s race team hopes to raise $10,000 to support charities that were close to Dawn's heart.

Also joining the broadcast Thursday will be Jeff Gluck, NASCAR writer at SBNation.com, with his unique brand of witty and insightful views on the sport’s hottest topics in the Writer’s Block segment. Finally, Mike Calinoff, spotter for Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth, will share the Keys to Winning at Thunder Valley; Kenseth and the No. 17 team are currently second in the Sprint Cup standings.

A Week Off For NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing, But Not For Race 2 Win Radio

Taylors, SC, March 10, 2010 - After the first four-week stretch of racing in the 36-week Sprint Cup Season, NASCAR's top series is taking this week off. But there is no lack of hot racing topics to talk about on this week's edition of Race 2 Win Radio, airing Thursday, March 11 from 1-3 PM ET. Special guests include NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Ragan, former Cup driver Kyle Petty, and up-and-coming racer Chase Elliott, along with NASCAR writer Kenny Bruce and spotter Mike Calinoff.

Hosting duties this week will be shared by regular show hosts Jeff Holtzclaw and Heather Meyer, joined by Richard Childress Racing Development driver Tim George Jr. co-hosting the first hour and writer Carol Einarsson of RaceJournalOnline.com in hour two.

David Ragan, currently in his fourth year of Sprint Cup competition, pilots the No. 6 UPS Ford for Roush-Fenway Racing. The 24-year-old Georgia native has 19 top-10 finishes in the Cup Series and narrowly missed the cut for the Chase for the Championship in 2008, finishing that year 13th in points. Ragan also has one ARCA win, two NNS wins, and was 2007 Rookie of the Year in the Nationwide Series.

Kyle Petty competed in NASCAR's top racing series for nearly 30 years, starting 829 races and posting 173 top-ten finishes, including eight victories. Petty is the son of racing legend Richard Petty and grandson of racing pioneer Lee Petty. He currently serves as a NASCAR analyst on radio and television, including SPEED TV and TNT. Kyle and wife Patty co-founded the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which provides week-long camping experiences for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Chase Elliott is the 14-year-old son of NASCAR legend Bill Elliott and already has seven championship titles to his name as he works his way up the racing ranks. In three regional super late model starts this season, Chase has posted three straight top-ten finishes, including a fourth in last Sunday's Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway.

This week's Writer's Block segment features Kenny Bruce, assistant managing editor of NASCAR Illustrated, while Mike Calinoff, spotter for Sprint Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth and several drivers in other NASCAR series, will discuss the No. 17 team's runner-up finish in Atlanta. Race 2 Win Radio Heads to Hotlanta with Live On-Air Piquet Jr. Announcement

Taylors, SC, March 3, 2010 – Atlanta Motor Speedway is often cited as a favorite racetrack of NASCAR drivers, and this week’s Race 2 Win Radio show will bring fans a preview of the exciting race weekend from several expert perspectives. This week’s episode, airing Thursday, March 3 from 1-3 PM ET, will feature a special live announcement from Nelson Piquet Jr., the Formula One driver competing in both the ARCA and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Piquet Jr. finished an impressive sixth in his first-ever CWTS race at Daytona in February.

Also scheduled to appear this week are NASCAR drivers James Buescher and Timothy Peters, Sprint Cup Series spotter Mike Calinoff, and a freewheeling panel of top NASCAR writers in the Writer’s Block Roundtable. The show is hosted by NASCAR veteran Jeff Holtzclaw, with co-hosts Heather Meyer of the Stock Car Gazette, RCR development driver Tim George Jr., and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Caitlin Shaw.

James Buescher, driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet Impala for Phoenix Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, will also compete in the No. 31 Turner Motorsports truck for the majority of the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule, where he ran full-time last season and finished 14th in points. Buescher is competing for 2010 Rookie of the Year honors in the Nationwide Series, starting the season with an eight-place run at Daytona, and currently ranks 11th in points. Buescher is also running a partial ARCA schedule this year, posting a fourth-place finish in the season opener at Daytona.

Timothy Peters is in his second full Camping World Truck Series season and currently drives the No. 17 K&N Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing. Peters started 2010 with a win at Daytona International Speedway, beating Truck Series veterans Todd Bodine and Dennis Setzer to the checkers. As a result, Peters heads into Atlanta leading the CWTS championship points. He finished 15th at AMS in 2009.

Thursday’s Writer’s Block segment will feature Race 2 Win’s once-a-month Writer’s Block Roundtable, teaming up three of NASCAR’s most popular writers with news and views straight from the garage. The panel consists of Kenny Bruce, assistant managing editor of NASCAR Illustrated, Rick Minter, senior writer for RacinToday.com, and Jeff Gluck, blogger at SBNation.

Race 2 Win Radio Fans’ ‘Best Bet’ to Preview NASCAR’s Las Vegas Weekend

Taylors, SC, February 24, 2010 – It’s the third race of the still-young NASCAR season and Race 2 Win Radio will bring fans all the fanfare of racing in Las Vegas this Thursday, February 25, 1-3 PM ET. Show host Jeff Holtzclaw will moderate the exciting two-hour internet radio show that includes guests and commentators straight from the NASCAR garage and media center.

A total of four drivers will participate in Race 2 Win’s program this week, including regular 1-2 PM co-host Tim George Jr., a Richard Childress Racing Development Driver in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. Additional drivers on air this week are Nelson Piquet Jr., Colin Braun, and Casey Roderick. Piquet Jr., competing part-time in the ARCA and Camping World Truck Series this season, was scheduled to call the show last week, but had to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

Colin Braun is competing full-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this year, driving the No. 16 car for Roush Fenway Racing. He qualified ninth for the season-opening NNS race at Daytona and posted a top-20 finish last weekend in Fontana. In 2008 and 2009, Braun competed full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, earning Rookie of the Year honors in 2008.

Casey Roderick, a rookie in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 2010, ran one ARCA race last year at age 16 as a Bill Elliott Racing Development Driver. Competing at the famed Rockingham racetrack, he qualified third and finished second. Now 17, Roderick will begin his ARCA rookie season this weekend in the Tire Kingdom 150 on the road course of Palm Beach International Raceway.

Also appearing on Race2Win Radio this week will be NASCAR team member Mike Calinoff and writer Jeff Gluck. Race 2 Win Radio Previews NASCAR Race Weekend with Talented New Co-Host

Taylors, SC, February 18, 2010 – As NASCAR heads west for a weekend of high-speed thrills in California, Race 2 Win Radio heads to the airwaves on Thursday, February 18, with a captivating lineup of guests and a brand-new show co-host.

Airing every Thursday from 1-3 PM ET, Race 2 Win Radio is anchored by regular show host, NASCAR veteran Jeff Holtzclaw. Premiering this week as permanent co-host during the 1-2 PM hour will be ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Tim George Jr., who will provide a ‘straight from the cockpit’ look at racing for listeners each week.

George Jr. was a rookie in the ARCA RE/MAX Series last season, where he ranked 11th in Championship points, and was the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Series Rookie of the Year. He was tapped this year to pilot the No. 31 car in the ARCA RE/MAX Series as a Development Driver for Richard Childress Racing.

"I'm looking forward to being a part of Race 2 Win Radio and interacting with fans of the sport,” George Jr. said. "I think internet radio shows are the wave of the future and, with its increasing popularity, I'm excited to offer my perspective on racing from the view of an RCR Development Driver."

Race 2 Win Radio Daytona 500 Preview Packed with Competitors and Commentators

Taylors, SC, February 10, 2010 – The Gatorade Duel 150s will take place on the track at Daytona on Thursday, February 10 - but it will be a “duel” of a different sort during Race 2 Win Radio’s inaugural “Writer’s Block Roundtable” segment the same day, featuring three of NASCAR’s most popular writers.

NASCAR columnists Jeff Gluck, Kenny Bruce, and Rick Minter will be trading their mouse pads for microphones as they meet on air to preview the biggest race of the NASCAR season. Listeners will be treated to the trio’s unique insights, direct from Daytona, along with a vibrant discussion of the week’s hottest racing topics.

Also joining the Thursday broadcast will be drivers Ricky Carmichael and Justin Lofton, both participating in Daytona racing this weekend.

Carmichael, who finished seventh in last weekend’s ARCA race on the 2.5-mile Daytona track, will compete Friday in the season-opening NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona, driving the No. 4 Monster Energy Chevrolet for Turner Motorsports.

Lofton, the reigning ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion, is debuting in the Camping World Truck Series Friday, piloting the No. 7 VisitPit.com Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing.Race 2 Win Radio’s winning lineup does not end there. Also appearing on this week’s jam-packed Daytona preview episode will be a pair of “Mikes” – reigning Daytona 500 Champion team spotter Mike Calinoff, and ESPN NASCAR reporter Mike Massaro.

Calinoff, who called Roush-Fenway Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth across the finish line to win the 2009 Daytona 500, will be offering his “Keys to Winning” at the plate track in his regular weekly spotter’s segment. Calinoff has been a winning spotter in races at the Cup, Nationwide, and Truck Series level, as well as in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

Mike Massaro, the host of NASCAR Now on ESPN, is also a pit reporter for ESPN’s NASCAR coverage and reports on the sport for the network’s SportsCenter program. Massaro is also live from Daytona this week.

Thursday, February 4, Race 2 Win Radio kicks off the 2010 NASCAR season, bringing fans all the off-season news and updates while previewing Daytona Speedweeks. Special guests include NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Trevor Bayne, veteran crew chief and team owner Tommy Baldwin, and Doug George, crew chief for Kevin Harvick Inc. in the Camping World Truck Series.

Award-winning journalist Kenny Bruce, assistant managing editor of SceneDaily.com, will offer his unique insights regarding NASCAR Media Day as he calls in live from the Daytona International Speedway. Bruce will be discussing this weekend’s Budweiser Shootout race, as well as Daytona 500 qualifying during his stint on the Writer's Block.

Popular NASCAR Writer Jeff Gluck Joins Race 2 Win Radio’s Team of Award-Winning Analysts

Taylors, SC, February 1, 2010 - Race 2 Win Radio, a leading broadcast source of NASCAR news and commentary, is pleased to announce the addition of popular NASCAR writer Jeff Gluck to its regular lineup.

Gluck will participate in a monthly panel discussion of the hottest NASCAR topics on Race 2 Win's "Writer's Block" segment. The first segment will air Thursday, February 11, and will then assume its regular spot in the rotation on the first Thursday of each month.

Gluck has been covering NASCAR for six years and has reported on more than 100 Sprint Cup races for various publications, including 28 races in each of the previous three seasons. He has also covered other sports at every level from high school football to the Super Bowl. Gluck currently blogs about NASCAR at SBNation.com and has a large Twitter following at www.Twitter.com/Jeff_Gluck.

Participating with Gluck on the Writer's Block segment will be award-winning journalists Kenny Bruce, assistant managing editor of SceneDaily.com and NASCAR Illustrated, and Rick Minter, senior writer for RacinToday.com. The three NASCAR insiders will discuss and debate the biggest stories in the sport, mixing on-target insight and opinion with a healthy dose of humor. Each writer will also have an individual segment on Race 2 Win Radio once a month.

Race 2 Win Radio Host Jeff Holtzclaw believes the new three-member panel will take the Writer's Block segment to a new level of information and entertainment. "The addition of Jeff Gluck to Writer's Block is like getting one more present at Christmas. Kenny Bruce and Rick Minter are two of the top writers in this business and throwing Gluck into the mix can only strengthen this popular segment.
